Finally, supply shortages resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine conflict have contributed to changing public and corporate debates on the restructuring of value chains. While the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing have long been the focus, recently, the question of under what conditions it might be sensible to internalize outsourced value-added activities is increasingly coming to the forefront, along with the significance of digital technologies in restructuring.
